Luxury Tudor House Plan
House Plan 96166 has an exterior of stone, brick and timber framing like you would see on a country cottage in England during Medieval times. Nostalgia for these charming architectural features has inspired many modern designs, and in this case, the “commoner’s cottage” grew to 4,928 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one half bath and one ¾ bath. The arched stone entry porch and tall, narrow widows are “castle-like” in appearance.
On the rear elevation, the homeowner may appreciate a substitution for stone- here we have cost-saving vinyl siding. Notice also the huge picture windows and the squared bay window over white brackets. The deck is perfect for a grill and outdoor entertaining.
Busy families will appreciate the garage entrance which offers lockers and a drop zone. Adjacent is a laundry room complete with utility sink and storage. The kitchen features a huge walk in pantry and angled island.
From the kitchen is an easy flow to the great room. Choose a rug with warm tones for the center of this room and arrange furniture around it in a semicircle, leaving the fireplace and built in shelves as your focal point.
Like a traditional layout, the formal dining room is located at the front of the house, but a pass-through to the kitchen and a butler’s pantry allow for easy serving. Keep your best dishes in the dining room hutch.
An impressive step ceiling is viewed in the formal entryway, and the family den resides behind a set of French doors. Here you will find a cozy window seat.
Other features to mention:
- A discreet powder room is tucked at the end of the hallway behind the dining room.
- The breakfast nook is equipped with lovely views through two picture windows, and the exit door leads out to the deck.
- Enjoy the window seat on the landing of the staircase.
Each room on the second level has an attractive step ceiling, and each bedroom has a private bathroom and walk in closet. The master bedroom does not disappoint as we find a fireplace and window seat in the main room and all the expected amenities included with the bathroom- double sinks, tub, shower and water closet.
