French Tudor House Plan
A mixture of stone, brick and stucco makes a very eclectic exterior for French Tudor House Plan 82155. Decorative half timbering on the prominent front facing gable recalls the medieval influence which lasted in England from about 1485-1603. Resembling a carriage house entrance, the strap hinges and arches on the garage doors further imitate Tudor period buildings. The Victorian tower features tall, narrow windows and a witch hat roof. Attractive finials on the roof double as lightning rods for safety. With dimensions measuring 42’x 80’, this home would work very well on a narrow lot, and the living space is generous with 2889 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
As you can see from the photographs, the house has been finished with traditional shingles and modern garage doors. As you enter, polished concrete floors give the foyer and great room the look of marble. Hardwood treads and wrought iron handrails on the staircase repeat the creative variety of materials that are seen outside. Richness of color in the living space is achieved with a golden paint selection on the walls, matching ceilings and recessed lighting. White trim defines the room, and arched doorways add character. Gathered around a stone fireplace, we have a distressed leather armchair and plush couch arranged on an oriental rug.
Comfortable outdoor living space includes a stone fireplace in the corner with a built in shelf to accommodate a small flat screen. Two wicker chairs invite you to have a seat and relax under the cool breeze of the fan. The porch photograph has been repinned on Pinterest 1292 times!
Cabinetry in the kitchen is both dark wood and white with a stone breakfast bar. A little pub table and leather chairs serve the family for informal meals, and we love the cow skin carpet! Formal dining is done in the tower room with its high ceiling and impressive iron light fixture. The décor is artsy, modern and elegant with a multicolored floor, aqua ceiling and old world paint finish for the walls.
Admire a step ceiling in the master bedroom. The homeowners had it finished with a solid four poster bed and a Victorian style leather love seat, and the bathroom boasts an intricately carved custom vanity and whirlpool tub. Other rooms on the main level include the laundry, storage and powder room. Three bedrooms upstairs share a full bathroom, sitting area and computer center.
