Craftsman style home design comes from the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th Century. We love those big front porches, elephant leg columns, stone and brick exteriors and exposed rafter tails. An authentic Craftsman home would be considered small by today’s standards and maybe have a little too much ornamentation for a modern neighborhood. If you are looking for a compromise, see our Updated Craftsman Home Plans. These three plans are designed with a traditional template and borrow some of those artsy details that were popular in the 1920’s.
