Contemporary Meets Craftsman: New House Plan
House Plan 50258: 2161 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms.
From the exterior, we see a mixture of craftsman materials including stone and shingle siding. However, a modern layout, sleek metal roof and walls of windows provide an updated, rustic / contemporary look.
Positioned on this sloping lakeside lot, the owners have taken full advantage of the view from the main living area. The walkout basement exits to a covered patio where a swing has been suspended from the deck above.
Guests will approach your home through a set of French doors from the stone patio. The stone fireplace serves as the focal point upon entering, and newcomers will marvel at the high, vaulted ceilings. Thanks to abundant widowing, the great room, dining room and kitchen are flooded with natural light.
From the kitchen, another set of French doors leads out to the deck. Outdoor meals can be enjoyed throughout the year, or dine inside where you still have an excellent view of the lake or alternate landscape. A prep sink is built into the bar area along with seating for a family breakfast or quick cup of coffee. All appliances are accounted for, but the kitchen is not compromised for space as the floor plan shows a storage pantry and stretches of open counter tops.
The master bedroom has a deep walk in closet measuring 5’11” x 8’, and the bathroom does not disappoint with linen storage, double vanities, luxurious shower and private water closet.
We like how the powder room is arranged discreetly behind the staircase, and the adjacent laundry room is right outside the master bedroom.
Two bedrooms and one bathroom are part of the finished space downstairs. The game room would make a perfect theater or attractive billiards room with the tray ceiling.
Other options? Depending on the size of your family, you may want to make it a guest room and convert a smaller bedroom into an office to take advantage of the lakeside exit / window view.
Unfinished area provides more options for the future if you want to expand living space, but we imagine it will be used for storing recreational equipment like kayaks. This design is the outdoorsman’s paradise.
