Victorian Farmhouse Plan

Victorian Farmhouse Plan 95560 is drawn with beloved dollhouse details including gingerbread siding under a decorated gable, delicate porch spindles on brick bases and a turret over the front porch which forms the alcove for an upstairs bedroom. Photographs show the results of the completed house with a few modifications. The homeowner decided to add a wraparound porch for more outdoor living space. They also switched out the pointed turret roof for a more traditional front facing gable. A bay window brings natural light into the living room, and a small dormer dresses up the steep pointed roof. Fanciful landscaping complements this mixture of Queen Ann and Folk Victorian architecture.

This two story plan offers 2772 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Open to the foyer is the dining room with coffered ceiling, this one finished with formal wallpaper and an elegant hanging light fixture. Victorian style moldings and trim painted in a fresh, radiant white is continued throughout the house, and the floors are done in a combination of warm hardwood and soft, cream colored carpeting.

Pass through the dining room to the kitchen with its white cabinets, marble counter tops and sage green walls. French doors in the adjoining breakfast room open to a beautiful private porch at the rear of the home. The two car garage opens to the laundry room for a convenient informal entrance and a great place to leave winter coats. The family room with its massive fireplace and media center and the living room are arranged around a central staircase with a powder room on the left and study on the right. Seating lines the bay window, and a desk is tucked below the stair landing. An arbor is included in the original design through a door from the front living room.

Each room upstairs is accompanied by a walk in closet, and bedroom 2 would make a nice guest suite due to its private bathroom and sitting alcove. A sixteen foot ceiling sets the master bedroom apart from the rest. With a garden tub, double sinks and spacious closet, this suite is the envy of the household. The stair landing is equipped with a seat, two closets and a 32 inch tall cabinet. Bedrooms 3 and 4 have plenty of room and a shared bathroom with pocket door access. To help the younger crowd get ready in the mornings, a double sink is separate from the rest of the bathroom.
