New Craftsman Traditional House Plan
Craftsman Style House Plan 50263 offers 3,290 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The front façade shows an attractive combination of materials including vertical siding, brick and stone. Decorative gables and metal roof accents clearly define the home’s style, and a spacious interior is promised by the high peak of the shingled roof.
Around the right side of the home is access to a one car garage and a separate two bay garage. Both open into a mud room with built-in bench and cubbies. This detail makes the design very convenient for active families.
When entering through the foyer, you will find the formal dining room to your right and great room straight ahead. Built-ins flank the fireplace, and sliding glass doors provide a view out to the screened porch. This room has a two story ceiling with an upper set of windows to allow for more natural light into the loft area upstairs.
The home pictured has a beautifully finished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, white cabinets and marble counter tops. A peaceful shade of green is painted on the island to match the wall color. Ample storage space is afforded by the cabinets which wrap around the corners of the hidden pantry. Adjoining the kitchen is a breakfast area with exit door to the deck.
The master bedroom measures 18’8” x 14’4” and boasts a single tray, feature ceiling. French doors lead into the master bathroom where you will enjoy a shower, garden tub, his and her vanities and private water closet. You must pass through the bathroom to reach a generous walk in closet, and you will appreciate a pocket door that allows access into the laundry room. Here, you have a utility sink and upper shelving.
For anyone who works at home, the study is right off the foyer through a set of French doors. The room is perfect for meeting with clients, or it could provide a quiet place to settle in front of the fireplace with a good book.
On Level 2, three bedrooms have access to a stacked washer and dryer, saving the occupants from having to carry laundry baskets up and down the stairs. Bedroom 2 would make a nice guest suite with its walk in closet and full bath. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share a bath, but also enjoy private vanities.

Would have been nice to see the floor plan/blue print to go with the pictures to get a feel of the flow of the house.
Love – the exterior, the interior and exterior colors, the flooring and layout of the first floor; especially the kitchen.
Do not like – Shower doors (too difficult to keep clean in a busy house), not a fan of any of the shower tile or bathroom flooring (These materials seem too hard/dark compared to the white/brightness of the rest of the house; and honestly look a little on the cheap side compared to the rest of the house.) Really don’t like the stone fireplace (even though the ceiling is vaulted, it still seems like a small room because of the magnitude of the fireplace. All you see is the fireplace and the stone, again, doesn’t work with the feel of the house). Do not care for the already built in cubby holes for the washer/dryer. (Not everyone has the newest machines – I personally do not like front loaders; so this might be an issue for some; along with the fact that now some new machines are top loaders with a built in sink). Also, the cabinet above the sink in the laundry room could be a problem; though the extra storage is nice, it is very dark over the sink. A simple light fixture would be a plus; especially if you are using the sink to work on stains.
Overall, it is a lovely house, but a few generic fixes might make it more appealing.
