To celebrate Thanksgiving this coming week, we decided to feature some of our best Farmhouse Home Plans. Sitting with family around a solid wood dinner table, passing the bread and carving the turkey- it’s that much more American when festivities take place in a traditional farmhouse. The windows may afford a view of the rolling fields of a horse pasture or the humble hen house in the side yard. Just the idea of a country farmhouse on Thanksgiving evokes feelings of peace, relaxation and blessings for those that make a living with honest hard work. Our lofty farmhouse plans are ideal for the well groomed lots of a developed neighborhood as well as the rural countryside.<\/p>\n

Traditional Farmhouse Plan 86162<\/strong><\/a> greets you with a sun shaded porch wrapping around the side of the home and ending in an insect free haven in the back screened porch. Two low profile shed dormers are settled over the back porch, and three recessed gable dormers fit over the front porch. White siding, metal roof, brick chimney and stone perimeter foundation complete the handsome exterior. Inside, we have a living room to the left of the foyer mirrored by the formal dining room on the right. With a total of 2910 square feet, this home boasts open living space and a future bonus room over the garage.<\/p>\n

Gather the crew around the fireplace in the family room or prepare the holiday dinner in the kitchen while you supervise the kids as they play games with visiting cousins in the sun washed breakfast room.<\/p>\n

Barn Style Farmhouse Plan 86323<\/a><\/strong> is beloved for its classic gambrel roof. The great room fireplace is nestled between two built in bookcases, and the room opens to a screened porch. A convenient layout allows you to enter from the garage in the back of the house to a mud room, pass through the breakfast area and kitchen and proceed to the dining room or the great room. Guests are served by a powder room, and all three bedrooms are located upstairs. Over the garage is a future recreation area, the perfect place for a billiard table or play room.<\/p>\n
