Manufacturers have responded by presenting such new offerings as oversized dining tables,<br \/>\nlarger, more elaborate outdoor bar sets, and cushy, comfortable lounging pieces. Some trends include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wood tones<\/li>\n<li>Earthy and bright<\/li>\n<li>Fabulous fabrics<\/li>\n<li>Function rules<\/li>\n<li>Best bars<\/li>\n<li>Mix it up<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hirschhaut says, &#8220;Because outdoor living has become so popular, the selections are better than ever. Manufacturers are loading their outdoor furniture with comfort, function, and great-looking style.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tips for Taking Care of Outdoor Furniture<\/strong><br \/>\nThe American Furniture Manufacturers Association offers the following tips:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aluminum frames<\/strong><br \/>\nClean with mild soap and water. For non-textured surfaces, apply an automotive wax every few months. On textured finishes, periodically apply baby or mineral oil. Occasionally spray oil lubricant on chair swivels or glides.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; margin: 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.familyhomeplans.com\/images\/documents\/furn2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"241\" \/><strong>Tempered glass tabletops<\/strong><br \/>\nClean regularly with a soft cloth, a mild detergent, and warm water. Buff dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outdoor wicker<br \/>\n<\/strong>Vacuum gently or brush with a soft bristle brush. Hose off and clean periodically with mild detergent and water. Rinse and air dry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vinyl straps<\/strong><br \/>\nWash with mild detergent and warm water. To remove scuff marks, apply toothpaste or gentle abrasive and rub gently with a dry cloth. To remove mildew, use a solution of warm water, mild detergent, and bleach. Apply vinyl protectant to the straps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cushions<\/strong><br \/>\nVacuum as needed. Clean with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and air dry. For mildew, use a solution of bleach. Rinse and air dry.<br \/>\nTest an inconspicuous spot first.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"float: right; border: 0; margin: 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.familyhomeplans.com\/images\/documents\/furn4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"332\" \/><strong>Wrought iron and steel<\/strong><br \/>\nClean with warm, soapy water. To maintain the gloss on non-textured surfaces, apply automotive wax. On textured finishes, periodically apply mineral or baby oil. For rust, sand lightly then wipe thoroughly and apply touch-up paint.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardwoods<br \/>\n<\/strong>Clean with mild detergent and water. Teak and Jarrah can stay outdoors<br \/>\nyear-round. Pine, oak, and cedar should be stored for the winter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Umbrellas<\/strong><br \/>\nWash covers with mild soap and water. Spray silicone on the joints of wire frames.
