Careful planning can ensure you don\u2019t commit any design or\nbudgeting errors that you\u2019ll regret in the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are\na handful of common mistakes people run into while going through the\nhomebuilding process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Failing\nto Budget Properly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if\nyou budget your project down to the last nail, you still may run into problems.\nNo job ever goes as smoothly as we expect. That means you\u2019re almost certain to\nrun into delays or changes to your plans. Allowing for some wiggle room when\nyou start can make it easier to roll with the punches and not get caught by surprise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overdoing\nthe Floorplan<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You want\nyour custom home to be the ideal space for you and your unique lifestyle.\nHowever, many people waste time and money by building rooms they won\u2019t use as\noften as they think they will. Adding a gym to your plans is a nice idea if\nyou\u2019re serious about exercise, for example. However, if you\u2019re expecting that\nspace to jumpstart your interest in fitness, it may not be long before it\nbecomes little more than a walk-in closet. Windows also help reduce your electric bill by providing natural\nlighting during the day.&nbsp; Don\u2019t jump straight to window replacement if\nyour windows are outdated. Replacement windows may seem like an obvious,\nefficient upgrade, but there are huge benefits to keeping your original\nwindows. Original windows are part of the home\u2019s original design and you can\nget the same upgrades without construction by adding storm\nwindows. For example, you may not have children now, but could\nyou see it happening? If so, you\u2019ll want to plan some additional bedrooms and\nbathrooms to accommodate your growing family. If you have a home office or\nmultipurpose room, is that space flexible enough to adapt if your career or\ninterests change?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Not\nHaving the Right HVAC System<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s\ncritical to have an HVAC system that will be powerful enough for your home\u2019s\nspace. Still, unless you put in the work to confirm every detail is\ncovered, you may experience disappointment.
