The wide, rambling verandah puts one in mind of a Southern country home plan. Its large country kitchen has a charming octagonal nook and links with both the dining room and the vaulted great room at the home’s core. Owners’ suite amenities include two walk-in closets, sun porch access, and a deluxe bathroom.

Painted columns link a gallery of arched openings that span the front exterior. This classic parade of arches and columns highlights a long veranda, ideal for catching summer breezes. The octagonal nook on the left adds gazebo-like charm. A nostalgic weathervane ornaments its peak.

In addition to an abundance of outdoor living areas, this plan offers nearly 4,000 square feet of interior living space. Another 400+ sq. ft. is in the bonus room, and close to 1,500 sq. ft. is in the garage.

Once inside the wide foyer, you have three choices. Double doors on the right open into a den with a fireplace. An arched opening on the left leads into the stately, octagonal dining room. Or, walk straight ahead into the lofty, vaulted great room, which also has a fireplace.

French-style windows fill most of the rear wall and slide open to provide access to a partially covered patio. Colorful flames in the wood burning fireplace serve as a focal point when skies are dark.

The kitchen’s large central work island has a veggie sink, a six-burner cook top, raised eating counter, and plenty of storage below. Other noteworthy kitchen features include: a phone desk, walk-in pantry, trash compactor, and sunny, octagonal nook.

Two large walk-in closets are in the luxurious owners’ suite, which has direct access to a private sun porch. The sumptuous private bathroom has a deep soaking tub, walk-in shower, two lavs, corner vanity and totally private toilet.

A bedroom, generously sized utility room and large guest suite fill the opposite wing. Two bathrooms and another bedroom are upstairs, along with a sitting room and a large bonus room.

This country home plan features a wide, cool, front veranda which is accessed from master suite, foyer, and nook. The vaulted great room at the core has corner fireplace and sliders to patio. The spacious kitchen has a large work island and is linked to gazebo-like nook.

The elegant design has a rambling covered porch that spans all of its front facade. Classic columns accentuate arched openings, creating an ambiance of stately graciousness.

An octagonal nook, far right, is one of the most unique details of this plan. It offers a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery. Display shelves line the passageway that joins with a kitchen designed to accommodate multiple cooks.

In addition to built-in appliances, kitchen features of note include: a huge, angled work island with built-in cooktop and veggie sink, counter space on four sides, a roomy walk-in pantry, and a trash compactor. Pocket doors in the hutch/buffet slide open for easy service between the kitchen and dining room.

Light spills into the den, foyer and dining room through three gabled dormers above that face the street. These rooms are already bright. Wide bay windows expand the den and dining room, while sidelights and transom windows surround the door into the vaulted foyer. Plants thrive on high plant shelves that wrap around three sides.

Directly ahead is a vaulted great room outfitted with a brick hearth fireplace and an entertainment center. Sliding French doors at the rear open to access a partially covered patio with an arched opening.

Double doors open into a palatial master suite. Both of the large walk-in closets are lined with cedar, and the private bathroom boasts a walk-in shower, soaking tub, private toilet, two basins and a sit-down corner vanity.

Utilities are in the opposite wing, close to the kitchen and secondary bedrooms. A long, covered breezeway connects the house to a garage with storage room above.
