Modern House Plan Offers a Great View
Modern House Plan 81183 has 4,052 SQ FT of living space. You will enjoy a fantastic view from almost every part of the home thanks to walls of windows on the deck side. The most prominent feature is the great room with its a-frame roof and windows which extend up to the highest point. Additional visual interest outside comes from the spiral staircase that connects the basement level to the main floor deck.
The sun deck wraps around the home, and underneath is a covered patio at the basement level. One end of the deck is screened in and has an outdoor fireplace. Modern accordion doors on two sides of the porch open to the dining room and the kitchen.
The main floor is a split level, so you will ascend five steps to reach the bedrooms. The master bedroom has an attractive coffered ceiling. The bed will face the linear fireplace, and on the opposite side is a wardrobe measuring 23’ x 8’. A barn-style door opens to the luxurious ensuite. Even the powder room is luxurious and unique—the toilet and sink face away from each other, and the trey ceiling is not something you would commonly see in a small room. In addition to a coat closet, we have an L-shaped mud room offering a utility sink and plenty of open storage along the walls.
The great room is open to the kitchen, and sunlight pours into every inch of the space. You will have an unobstructed view of your landscape. The great room has a vaulted ceiling and a linear fireplace that is lined with built-in shelves.
Children can perch themselves at the raised eating counter for breakfast, or the family can sit down together in the eating nook. The oversized island accommodates a sink, three dishwashers, bar fridge, 60” gas range, vegetable sink and a raised butcher block. Cabinets extend along the back wall, and for additional storage, there is a walk in pantry measuring 8’ x 4’.
Below, the finished section of the basement mirrors the perimeter of the finished space above. Three additional bedrooms will come in handy for visiting family during the holidays. In addition to a family room and reading nook, entertainment space includes a game room, wet bar, den and theater room.
The plans also show a rough in for a small rental space with bath, bedroom and kitchenette.
