Country Craftsman House Plan 42666

Country Craftsman House Plan 42666

Country Craftsman House Plan 42666 offers 4,629 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The beautiful exterior is composed of stone and cedar shingle siding, and the covered entry shows a special metal roof accent. On the front terrace you will enjoy an outdoor fireplace. From here, you can walk under the pergola and enter the breakfast room through a set of French doors.

42666-p4Walking in from the foyer, you will appreciate the beamed ceiling of the study to your left. As seen in the photo, the woodwork is finished with a dark stain, and the walls are painted a deep orange for an atmosphere of sophistication.

The walkway to the kitchen is painted in pleasant green with white trim, and an angled, built-in bookcase displays family photographs.  Recessed lighting is combined with attractive wall fixtures. An intricate iron fixture hangs over the staircase that leads down to the basement.

The expansive kitchen is adjoined with the breakfast room and open to the great room. A t-shaped island is home to a sink and plenty of seating. We love how the dark wood of the island is juxtaposed with the custom white cabinetry along the walls. Light marble counters glow as light is reflected from the natural light coming in from the tall windows of the great room.

Aside from the spectacular view, the great room offers soft carpeting and a gingham couch where you can lounge and enjoy the stone fireplace.42666-p1

On the opposite side of the kitchen, you will find entry to the library which is decked out with plush furnishings and a warm oriental rug. From the photo, you can almost feel the comfort and relaxation that is enjoyed here with a good book.

With this plan, you have many options for how you want to use the rooms—the library could be used as a formal dining room if desired. However, most will decide that the breakfast room is so large that a formal dining room is unnecessary. Coffered ceilings and wood flooring in the kitchen is seamlessly carried on in the breakfast room. You may arrange the dining table on one side of the room and take advantage of the window seat for extra seating. Guests admire a custom china cabinet on the opposite side of the room.

Also on the main level, we have a guest room with a ¾ bath and walk in closet. From the garage entry, there is a mud room, walk in coat closet and laundry room with island.

The smaller bedroom upstairs has a private ¾ bath. The master bedroom has a tray ceiling and a luxurious en suite. One major selling point for this plan is the enormous walk in closet—it rivals the size of the master bedroom!
