European Country Home Plan

European Country Home Plan

Topped with a horse weather vane, House Plan 87597 is reminiscent of luxurious European country estates. Total living area is 4625 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. A gambrel style roof tops the front garage, reminding us of a carriage house, and custom windows are shown in every shape and size, including dormers, bay windows and tower configurations. From the street view we see stone and flared cedar shingle siding. Cut your material costs by finishing the sides and rear of the home with standard siding.

A covered entry leads into the foyer. Immediately to the right is the living room with fireplace and bay window. Separation between the dining room and living room is created with columns and special ceiling treatments. This combination creates openness and a look of opulence. A convenient pass-through allows quick entrance to the kitchen which is a big plus when serving and entertaining.

Enjoy a walk in pantry for storage and a huge central island in the kitchen. The room is flooded with light from the windowed breakfast nook. From here, you can also access the back covered porch if you enjoy cooking on the grill.

Across from the kitchen is the family room with elegant coffered ceiling. This room shares a two-sided fireplace with the private family den.

The left side of the house has more of an informal feel as you enter the corresponding covered porch or from either garage. Pass through the French doors to the den, and you will find the only main floor living space that is walled off on all sides. This creates a quiet place of relaxation. Look up for the same beautiful coffered ceiling seen in the family room.

Upstairs, there is bonus room over the single car garage and a guest suite over the two car garage. Guests will enjoy the three dormer windows, walk in closet and private bathroom with shower.

Walk along the loft hallway and notice the view down to the lower level. From here you have access to the utility room and two more bedrooms which share a bathroom.

An interesting arrangement from the loft allows for two entrances into the master suite. Take the main hallway through a passageway to the sitting room or go directly from the stair landing and through the French doors into the main bedroom.

The entire suite encompasses the right side of the home’s upper level. From the lovely front view of the master bedroom, pass between his and her walk in closets, through the sitting room and into the master bath. All amenities are included with private water closet, shower, whirlpool tub and two vanities.
