A-Frame house plans are often built in cold climates where the steep pitched roof aids in shedding heavy snowfall. Suited for lakeside retreats or everyday living, these rustic homes are like a beacon of comfort. A tall chimney promises a roaring fire in the winter, and the deck offers a sunny place to enjoy the view on a summer afternoon. Below we are featuring our best-selling A-Frame House Plans.

House Plan 57368

Coming in at number four on the list of best-sellers is House Plan 57368. With classic A-Frame proportions, the roof almost reaches the ground on both sides, and we are faced by a wall of glass looking into the living room from the deck. A great little vacation cottage for a couple, the total living space is 908 square feet. Though this home has only one bedroom, plenty of storage space is available both on the ground floor and upstairs. A hunter or fisherman would surely appreciate the simplicity of this practical getaway.

House Plan 65446

At number three on the list is House Plan 65446. At 1301 square feet, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this design has room for the average family. A beautiful arrangement of windows makes the façade very appealing, and the front terrace invites the homeowner to set up an outdoor dining area and a couple of lounge chairs. The designer likes to classify this design as a chalet because of the overhanging eaves and wooden beamed interior. Over the living room, dining room and kitchen is a soaring cathedral ceiling which gives the space a luxurious atmosphere. One bedroom, laundry closet and bathroom are located on the first floor, and two additional bedrooms and shower room are located above.

House Plan 99961

House Plan 99961

The largest of our top four designs is House Plan 99961 at 1915 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Windows of the living room are arranged around the prominent chimney. Under the deck we have a walkout basement to be positioned on a sloping lot. Imagine the view from your living room couch if you build this home facing a lake in the mountains. Taking up the loft upstairs is the master suite with huge bedroom measuring 19’8” x 19’3”. Stand on the balcony right outside the door for a view through the tall front windows. French doors open to a sundeck on the back of the home, and the master suite is complete with a walk in closet and bathroom with shower, double vanity, Jacuzzi tub and private toilet. Downstairs we have an open arrangement for the kitchen, living room and dining. Through the mud room is a side entrance with coat closet, and two generously sized bedrooms and a bathroom finish the design.

Our best-selling A-Frame design is House Plan 99943 which features a fieldstone fireplace and tall bowed windows reaching from the deck to the eaves of

the roof. Upstairs is a private master retreat similar to what we saw in the previous plan. French doors open to a balcony outside, and the interior loft faces the living room windows. A second bedroom is found downstairs where it shares the back of the home with a generous mudroom and guest bathroom. Off the large kitchen is a dining room which shares space (and the great view) with the living room. In addition to 1561 square feet of living space is a two car garage.
